Legal Services For Salem Residents

Roger Conant, along with a group of immigrants from Cape Ann, founded the town of Salem, MA in the year of 1926. Although it was officially referred to by the name Naumkeag, most of the early settled preferred to use the Hebrew word meaning peace, salem. Since its conception, the town of Salem has been home to many historic moments including none more famous than the famous Salem Witch Trials. This period of time was one of madness that was only put to end when the wife of Governor William Phipps was accused of being a witch and he had no other choice but to disband the court. Once this trivial period came to an end, the town began to regain its footing as less than 100 years later Salem was recognized as the 6th largest city in the United States as well as the richest per capita.

The town has continued to see ongoing success moving into modern day times. Much of this can be attributed to the witch trials that once burdened the town so heavily. Now tourists come from all around the region, and even the country, to visit Salem regardless of the month. Although, around Halloween tends to be the most popular time for tourists to visit the town as many are looking for a rich combination of holiday festivities as well as history. Despite being heavily known for this unique time in the past, Salem’s history does not stop there. In the year 2013, President Obama recognized Salem as the birthplace of the United States National Guard.
